My Path to Enlightenment

April 2, 2014

I am very excited that my book has just come out … but maybe not for the reason you may think. It has nothing to do with ego or even money (although my family will be able to eat if you buy the book). Quite simply, I love to teach. I love to pass on to others what I have learned over the years, hoping to inspire people to reach their full potential. In the same breath, I also want to impart my wisdom so these same people will avoid paying the “dummy tax” that I paid. This book is the culmination of everything I love and that I feel qualified to pass on.

So, who am I? I’m David Meltzer. I’m an attorney who went into the business world instead of practicing law. I was involved in several industries – the Internet, Wireless, and Smartphones – at their pre-chasm stage (meaning before anyone had really heard of them”). In fact, I was CEO of what became Samsung U.S.A., and you can blame me for bringing the Smartphone into the U.S.

The problem was I made too much money and was too successful … and started to live a pretty decadent lifestyle. I lost focus of those things that were important to me – my beautiful wife, my kids, my values. Fortunately, before I hit rock bottom, I became enlightened. My newfound spirituality – my connection to what I call “goodness” – actually fed my soul even though I had squandered millions and was sitting in bankruptcy.

As I transformed myself in a true, authentic way, I started to wonder if I could move away from my years of Big Blue training and incorporate my new philosophies into my business practice. The answer is a resounding yes. I began to manifest things I had only dreamed of and I started to thrive beyond my wildest imagination. First, my whole life I had dreamed of being involved in sports (I played college football and baseball) and I ended up as CEO for Leigh Steinberg, who is generally acknowledged as being the first super sports agent. Second, I met one of my idols, Pro Football Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon, who was working for Leigh when I started. Third, Warren and I became close friends and branched off to start Sports 1 Marketing. Fourth and finally, Sports 1 Marketing has grown exponentially using my spiritual approach to business, and I have the opportunity through its internship program to impart the very information found in my book.

And now the book’s out so that I can impart this information on to you! Thank you for reading the blog. Thank you for reading the book. It is all very much appreciated.
